Scholarships for Healing Retreats at Historic Adirondack Sites

Creative Healing Connections has several full and partial scholarships available for two upcoming arts and healing retreats for women living with cancer and other chronic illnesses on September 21st to 23rd and September 28th to 30th, 2012 at Great Camp Sagamore National Historic Landmark in the Adirondacks.

Creative Healing Connections also offers scholarships for two arts and reintegration retreats for women veterans. Those retreats are August 6th to 8th and 13th to 15th, 2012. The retreat for female military spouses is sold out this year.

The retreats provide participants an opportunity to meet other North Country women living with similar challenges in a peaceful natural setting and to engage in a wide variety of activities designed to enhance quality of life. Experiences include everything from nature walks, yoga and massage to learning to express oneself through the arts.

The retreats for women with cancer and chronic illness are held at Great Camp Sagamore, the former wilderness retreat of the Vanderbilts located on Newcomb Lake. The retreats for women veterans take place at Wiawaka Holiday House on Lake George, the country’s oldest retreat site for women.

Women love the camaraderie, the shared stories, and being in a safe place where one can freely express feelings and gain wisdom from others. Take an opportunity to write songs, tell stories, paint, dream, journal, and dance. Join a community who will listen to your story as it unfolds, a community to support your healing and celebrate your growth. Retreat leaders and facilitators will guide you through the experience.
